Health Department denies Ambulance service to Woman in Tangmarg

Baramulla 20 July : Health department in Dhobiwan allegedly denied ambulance service to a woman from Kachipora Tangmarg after she was discharged from Qurantine Centre.

The family and relatives of the women allegedly said that the woman and her family members were tested positive for Covid-19 and were shifted to quarantine centre at Dhobiwan for treatment, however, after her tests came negative third time when she was sampled, the health officials discharged her from the Quarantine centre on Sunday, but transport facility was not provided to her as per the standing protocols.

When contacted Nodal officer Kachipora Tangmarg, Mushtaq Ahmad said, “I have informed control room regarding the issue to ensure her return as per protocols, but there was no vehicle available at that time,
due to the ongoing precarious scenario where we receive a lot of Covid-19 positive patients.”

He further added, “They didn’t even allow sampling also, two days back when a medical team visited the village and they were not ready to go in administrative quarantine even positive cases were not ready to go in qurantine, the husband of said lady too resisited and threaten  to commit suicide.”

When Kashmir News Bureau contacted Block Medical Officer(BMO)Dr Rukaya said, ” If any patient turns negative they can go to home on their own.We have shortage of vehicles as we have to send the ambulance to other places as the Covid cases are rising constantly not only this there are some people who threaten of committing sucide, we face such situations too in this pandemic where cooperation of the public is need of the hour.”(KNB)
