Tangmarg: Deputy Commissioner Baramulla on Saturday issued a notificafication declaring Ogmuna village of Kawarhama Tehsil of Gulmarg Sub Division a red zone for COVID 19 lockdown after a patient tested positve from this village on Friday.
The half a dozen neighbouring villages viz Devpora, Dardepora, Kharpora, Kawarhama, Bongam, Kechmatipora and Ussan Bangil have been declared as buffer zones.
Meanwhile in a positive sign civil society in many Tangmarg villages have resolved to help lockdown implement strictly in the interior villages and peripheries. Announcements were made on the Masjid loudspeakers advising people to follow the lockdown guidelines strictly and not to step out of the homes.
Police on Saturday blocked the traffic movement via Kunzar Chanpora bridge which the defiers used evading police guading near police station Kunzar on Magam Tangmarg Road.
The civil society however have appealed the authorities to ensure the supply of civic amenities and essential cmmodities amid strict lockdown. Tangmarg has seen alarming increase in the COVID 19 posive cases and the root cause orientation mystery is yet to be solved.
Pertienently, in order to ensure strict lockdown in Red and Buffer Zones, Tangmarg police has started aerial surveillance in Red zone areas of Tangmarg to monitor the movement of the people in the red zone areas,an official confirmed.
